Software Effort Estimation: A Comparative Analysis

Software is the most expensive element of virtually all computer based systems. For complex custom systems, a large effort estimation error can make the difference between profit and loss. Number of researchers had made their effort to produce different modeling techniques in last few decades. This paper is about the descriptive exploration of various techniques proposed in software estimation field. In this paper we present the findings of  various researchers in their research papers that have utilized a various parametric and non parametric techniques on effort estimation in a simplified manner. So, all the effort estimation techniques placed at one place helps the other researchers to distinguish and analyse which method is used for the particular project.
